3 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi just didn't seem to be on his game from the get-go Wednesday, giving up five runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings to the New York Yankees. All five runs were allowed in the first two innings, after which Kikuchi managed to settle down. He struck out five batters. This is the first time since April 23 that Kikuchi has given up more than three earned runs in a start, and it pushes his season ERA and WHIP to 3.48 and 1.09 with 98 strikeouts in 98 1/3 innings. That should be more than acceptable to fantasy managers who most likely got Kikuchi for nothing at draft time or later.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
