3 years agoHouston Astros catcher Martin Maldonado went 0-for-2 Thursday in the Astros 2-1 loss to the A's. Maldonado was activated from the bereavement list on July 6 and is 0-for-9 since his return to the lineup. The veteran backstop is solid behind the dish and calls a good game but is offensively inept. Maldonado is slashing .173/.259/.284 with 73 strikeouts through 208 at-bats this season. He possesses very little fantasy value at this time, even in two-catcher fantasy formats.--Joey C - RotoBaller
