Carlos Correa Placed On Injured List
3 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa (illness) was placed on the injured list due to the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the Houston Chronicle reported. Infielder Taylor Jones has been recalled in a corresponding move. Correa is having a career year in 2021 with 16 home runs, 61 runs scored, 52 RBI and a .288/.385/.510 slash line in 306 at-bats. He's no longer providing stolen bases, but the way he is hitting, his fantasy managers will be hoping for a quick return. Robel Garcia is at short and hitting ninth on Friday against Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes. The matchup is nice, but Garcia has just 13 hits (one homer) in 76 at-bats (.171) on the season, so you're better off looking for higher-upside options. Hopefully, Correa will be back to kick off the start of the second half of the season next weekend.
