Clayton Kershaw's MRI Confirms Inflammation
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (forearm) had an MRI on Friday that confirmed left forearm inflammation, according to MLB.com, citing manager Dave Roberts. Kershaw, who was put on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday, will start playing catch on Saturday and then the team will determine when he's able to get back to throwing bullpens. David Price will be in the rotation for now "given where we're at with the roster," Roberts said. Fantasy managers will be hoping Kershaw can return when eligible on July 16 or shortly thereafter, but no timetable was given. The 33-year-old southpaw is 9-7 on the season with a 3.39 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 127/19 K/BB in 106 1/3 innings, so he continues to be extremely valuable in fantasy leagues. Hold onto him in all formats. Price will need to get stretched out before being a realistic fantasy option.
