3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Daniel Bard earned the save on Saturday when he worked a scoreless ninth inning in a 3-0 win over the Padres. Bard faced the heart of the Padres lineup in the ninth inning and retired Fernando Tatis Jr., Jake Cronenworth, and Manny Machado in order to seal the victory. The veteran stopper now owns a 4.17 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 47:18 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings. He's converted his last three save opportunities and is 13-for-18 on the season.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
