Hunter Greene Flashes In Latest Start
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene starred with his arm and bat on Sunday for Triple-A Louisville. He was 1-for-2 with an RBI and gave up an earned run and five hits while striking out two over five innings pitched. The 21-year-old, the Reds No. 2 prospect, is quickly learning that he cannot get by with triple-digit heat alone. At Louisville this year, he is 5-0 with a 1.98 ERA and 60 strikeouts over 41 innings. Greene missed all of 2019 after having Tommy John surgery and spent last summer at the alternate training site. He's one of the best pitching prospects in baseball, though we're unlikely to see him at the major league level until at least 2022.
