Josh Osich Picks Up First Career Save
3 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Josh Osich threw a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. Osich picked up one strikeout while not allowing a baserunner in the outing. The left-hander was credited with a save in the game, the first of his career. Overall, Osich has a 2-0 record, 0.87 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings of work for the Reds this season. Don't read too much into Osich getting the save chance on Sunday as Heath Hembree had pitched in four of the past five days and was due for a break. Osich could work his way into a more high-leverage role in the second half if he can continue to limit opposing hitters.
