3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver D.J. Chark had a disappointing 2020 campaign following a breakout season in 2019. Though he fell short of expectations last season, Chark dealt with inconsistent QB play and still managed to put together a 53-706-5 line that was good for WR48 overall in PPR formats. Head coach Urban Meyer pointed to Chark's lack of physicality being the main issue last season, saying that he "didn't like [Chark's] size. His strength, I just thought, was way below average, way below what we expect from our receivers." To Chark's credit, he's taken the criticism in stride and reportedly gained 10 pounds over the offseason. The 6-foot-4 wideout ran a 4.34-second 40-yard-dash at the combine and his upside is still off the charts. Chark will be competing with Marvin Jones Jr. and Laviska Shenault Jr. for targets, the latter of whom allegedly outplayed him in organized team activities. Chark comes into 2021 as a WR3, and that projection seems fairly stable given potential volume constraints in a balanced offense with other mouths to feed. Nonetheless, few in the WR3 range can match Chark's rare athleticism-driven upside week in and week out.--Casey Kamholz
