JuJu Smith-Schuster Needs More Explosive Plays In 2021
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster signed a one-year deal to stay with the team that drafted him instead of moving to another city this past offseason. The veteran receiver will be looking to return to his 2018 form in hopes of scoring a lucrative long-term contract following the upcoming season. Despite scoring nine touchdowns, Smith-Schuster set a career-low mark in yards per catch in 2020 at just 8.6. Part of the downtick can be blamed on the offense, which focused on a short, quick passing attack to hide quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's elbow troubles. Roethlisberger's surgically-repaired elbow reportedly feels much better this season, giving hope that Smith-Schuster will see more downfield plays in 2021. Fantasy gamers drafting the wideout will be gambling on several factors coming to fruition, but Smith-Schuster has high-end WR2 upside if everything aligns for him this year.
