Jarren Duran Will Not Start Friday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran was initially set to bat seventh and play center field in his major league debut Thursday night, but he will now take a seat Friday night, as the Red Sox are facing New York Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Kike Hernandez will take his customary place in center field in Duran's stead, with Christian Arroyo manning second base. Duran is expected to play against most right-handed starters, and receive playing time in all three outfield positions. There are big expectations for the rookie, as he slashed .270/.365/.561 with 15 homers and 12 steals in 189 at-bats this season at Triple-A Worcester. He should be added in all but the shallowest formats.
