Francisco Lindor Exits Friday’s Game Early With Oblique Injury
3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (oblique) exited Friday's game against the Pirates early with an oblique injury. He grounded out to second and appeared to be in visible pain during his last at-bat in the top of the fifth inning. The 27-year-old went 1-for-3 before exiting Friday's contest. Oblique injuries are tricky and can lead to an IL stint, but the former Cleveland Indian is day-to-day for now. The Mets will provide a further update after the game. Luis Guillorme replaced Lindor in the fifth frame during Friday’s contest. Guillorme and Jonathan Villar would both see an uptick in playing time while Lindor is sidelined.
