Jordy Mercer Has Two Hits In Return To Lineup
3 years agoWashington Nationals infielder Jordy Mercer made his return to the Nationals lineup Friday, batting sixth and starting at third base, and he had a solid game, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored, though his contributions hardly mattered in the 24-8 blowout loss to the San Diego Padres. Mercer stands to see plenty of playing time in the coming weeks, as Starlin Castro is away from the team on administrative leave. Mercer has had a decent start to the year by his standards, with a .711 OPS and one home run over 77 at-bats, but that still doesn't make him worthy of fantasy rostership.
