3 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Chris Flexen picked up right where he left off before the all-star break Friday, throwing seven strong innings and only allowing one run on six hits and a walk against the Los Angeles Angels. He struck out two batters. The low strikeout rate appears to be the only thing keeping Flexen from true fantasy excellence, as he has only set down 65 batters on strikes in his 99 1/3 innings this year. Still, this victory gives Flexen a 9-3 record for the year with a 3.35 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. Over his last seven games, he has an even better 1.77 ERA, and appears well worth a pickup despite the lack of strikeouts.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
