3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Sergio Romo pitched a clean ninth inning against the Indians on Friday night and earned the win thanks to a walk-off homer by Jed Lowrie. Romo was dominant in his lone inning of work; he needed just 10 pitches to retire the side while racking up two strikeouts along the way. He hasn't recorded a save this season, but has six holds and has pitched better than his 4.09 ERA would indicate. He's got a 2.99 FIP and a 2.90 xERA while posting more than a strikeout-per-inning as the veteran has been a reliable setup man for manager Bob Melvin. Romo has little value in fantasy, however, except for very deep leagues that reward holds.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
