Josh Fleming Lit Up For Seven Runs In Loss To Braves
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Josh Fleming (7-5) allowed seven earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out one across four 1/3 innings during Saturday's 9-0 loss to the Braves. He was tagged with his fifth loss of the season. The 25-year-old cruised through the first three innings before running into trouble in the fourth frame. He surrendered six runs in the fourth inning, including a two-run shot to Joc Pederson. Fleming yielded a solo homer to Freddie Freeman before departing in the fifth inning. The Rays right-hander threw 72 pitches, landing 51 for strikes. Fleming owns a 3.93 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 43:18 K: BB across 73 1/3 innings in 2021. He's mainly an option in deep-league formats. Fleming will look for better results in his next scheduled start on the road against Cleveland on Thursday.
