Blake Snell Doesn't Factor Into Suspended Contest
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Blake Snell lasted four innings Saturday against the Washington Nationals, permitting four earned runs. The game was suspended and concluded on Sunday due to a scary shooting incident, but Snell did not factor into the 10-4 victory. After missing two turns from a stomach illness, the left-hander labored over 74 pitches, yielding six hits and four walks while striking out three. Through 74 ⅓ frames, Snell still hasn't put things together, owning a 5.21 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. With just two quality starts this season, a 29 percent strikeout rate has been the only thing saving Snell's fantasy value. The 28-year-old's next opportunity comes Thursday on the road against the Miami Marlins. He'll be a shaky SP4 in that contest.
