3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Mychal Givens earned the win on Sunday when he allowed one unearned run on one hit with a walk and three strikeouts over one inning in a 6-5 extra-innings win over the Dodgers. The Rockies held a 3-2 lead heading into the eighth inning on Sunday before Carlos Estevez coughed up a go-ahead two-run homer to Will Smith. Colorado would tie it in the ninth inning to send it to extras where Givens would allow an unearned run in the top half of the 10th before the Rockies walked it off in the bottom half of the frame. The 31-year-old reliever picked up his third win of the season and now owns a 3.04 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 31:13 K/BB ratio over 26 2/3 innings. He's a capable high-leverage pitcher when he gets the opportunities but he doesn't have much fantasy value as long as Daniel Bard is the closer.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
