3 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles signed first-rounder Colton Cowser (fifth overall) on Saturday to a contract worth $4.9 million. The Sam Houston State outfielder signed for roughly four-fifths of the slot value of the fifth overall pick ($6.2 million). Cowser was considered one of the top college bats in this season's draft and is known for his power and speed combo. He was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and was also named the Southland Conference Player of the Year during his junior season.
