3 years agoChicago Bears wide receiver Damiere Byrd will head into camp as an unfamiliar face to Bears fans. But the 27-year-old speedster is looking to make himself, by season's end, a household name. Byrd became one of the lone bright spots in an anemic Patriots offense last season, racking up 47 receptions on 77 targets for 604 yards and one touchdown. Byrd enjoyed a strong eight-game stretch from Week 2 to Week 10 where he averaged 58.5 yards per game, including six catches for 132 yards and one touchdown Week 10 against the Texans. The Bears offensive passing game has been sorely missing speed in the slot position the past two years and Byrd is aiming to fill that role. Byrd may not have surefire fantasy appeal in standard leagues, there is a scenario where he could end up on the radar sooner or later this season.--Joey C - RotoBaller
