Vladimir Gutierrez Allows Six Runs
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez struggled in a Monday start against the New York Mets. Gutierrez allowed six runs over four innings of work while striking out one and walking two. He served up three homers, including a pair of two-run shots in the game. Gutierrez escaped with a no-decision in what wound up being a wild, 11-inning, 15-11 loss to the Mets. The rookie hurler has been up-and-down in his debut season for the Reds, posting a 4-3 record, 4.97 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts over 54 1/3 innings of work. Gutierrez will look to get back in the win column next time out when he faces the Chicago Cubs on the road.
