Austin Gomber Returns To Rockies Rotation On Wednesday
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Austin Gomber (forearm) will return to the rotation on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. The 27-year-old southpaw threw 62 pitches through four innings in his lone rehab start at Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out four. Gomber returns from the injured list sitting on a 3.68 ERA with 76 strikeouts over 78 1/3 innings pitched, which is an improvement over his only other full MLB season in 2018. Over his last seven starts, he has a 4-1 record with a 1.85 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 39 innings pitched. He'll be more risky in his first start back from the injured list, but the matchup against Seattle isn't one to avoid completely.
