Tyler Mahle Allows Two HRs in Friday Start
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle allowed two runs over five innings in a 6-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. Mahle struck five and walked four while allowing two homers in what wound up as a no-decision for him. It was an inefficient outing for Mahle, who threw just 51 of 95 pitches for strikes. Mahle now has a 7-3 record, 3.92 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 131 strikeouts in 105 2/3 innings of work. He got off to a fast start this season but Mahle has been struggling a bit of late, posting a 4.58 ERA and 21 walks over his last seven starts, spanning 37 1/3 innings of work. Mahle is scheduled to face the Chicago Cubs on the road next.
