3 years agoThe Buffalo Sabres were a busy team on Friday by orchestrating multiple trades and selecting University of Michigan player Owen Power with the first overall selection in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-6 defenseman is coming off of a solid freshman season that saw him recorded 16 points in 26 games. The native of Mississauga, Ontario also played for Canada at the World Hockey Championship in May. Power is known for being an advanced player on both sides of the puck although he may never have offensive flair at the NHL level like new teammate Rasmus Dahlin — another recent first-overall pick by the Sabres. His college teammates Matty Beniers and Kent Johnson were also taken within the Top 5 picks. Power is expected to return to college for the 2021-22 season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
