George Springer Homers In Return To Leadoff Spot
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer returned to the leadoff spot in the batting order on Saturday and made manager Charlie Montoyo look like a genius by homering in the club's 10-3 win over the Mets. His third inning blast off Taijuan Walker was his eighth of the campaign as he finished the day going 2-for-6 with a pair of runs scored. Springer had settled into the fourth and fifth spot in the batting order since returning to the Jays lineup at the end of June, but with a top of the order shakeup, he may be back to batting first for good. It would undoubtedly bode well for his fantasy outlook the rest of the way as he currently sits with 15 RBI, 17 runs, and a .232 BA through 27 games this year.
