Ryan McMahon Reaches Twice In Defeat
3 years agoColorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in a 1-0 shutout loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. Colorado couldn't get anything going offensively in this one as McMahon was one of two Rockies to collect a hit and he was the only batter to reach twice. The 26-year-old has made some improvements at the dish over the last 15 games, hitting .340 with a .435 OBP but it's seemed to sap his power. He hasn't gone deep since June 15 and has just seven RBI since then. Overall, he's slashing .261/.325/.469 with 16 home runs, 50 RBI, and four stolen bases across 326 at-bats. Fantasy managers should stay the course with him even though his power has temporarily disappeared. It's encouraging that he's been drawing more walks and striking out less, which has always been a struggle for him.
