3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez (elbow) could begin a rehab assignment later this week, according to Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer. This news comes a few days before the one-year mark since undergoing Tommy John surgery, and reports say that Dominguez is currently throwing his fastball at about 93-94 mph. He saw time as the team's closer in 2018, but saw Hector Neris slide into the role full time in 2019. The Phillies closer situation currently is anything but set in stone, so it's possible that when Dominguez makes his return — most likely in September according to Lauber — that he could grab some saves down the stretch.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
