3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (knee) is "very close" to a return to action, per Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record. Voit suffered a bone bruise in his left knee, but his knee appears to have responded well to both a PRP shot and baseball activities. Manager Aaron Boone said that the slugging first baseman could return for the series against the Rays but will definitely be back by the team's following three-game set against Miami. Voit has only played in 29 games due to injury, though he was heating up at the plate before his most recent injury, batting .385 with four RBI and four runs scored in July. With some good fortune on the health front, Voit could make for a nice buy-low candidate the rest of the way.--Tim Capurso
