3 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored, a walk, and a strikeout in a 12-3 win over the Angels on Tuesday. Rodgers knocked a solo home run off of Jose Suarez in the third inning and reached base safely two more times in the lopsided win. He's now homered in back-to-back games and is slugging .463 over the last 30 contests. The 24-year-old is slashing a solid .267/.333/.455 with seven home runs and 22 RBI over 165 at-bats on the season. He's been locked into a starting role since being called up in May but he'll likely settle in as the team's full-time shortstop if Trevor Story is traded before Friday's deadline.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
