Alex Goligoski Signs Contract With Minnesota
3 years agoThe Minnesota Wild signed veteran defenseman Alex Goligoski on Wednesday. The contract is a one-year deal with a $5-million AAV and a no-trade clause. As a result, the Grand Rapids, Minnesota native, will get the opportunity to play in his home-state for the upcoming season. Goligoski compiled three goals and 19 assists in 56 contests this past year. The puck-moving defenseman could potentially be skating alongside Jared Spurgeon on the team's second defenseman pairing with the departure of Ryan Suter. He is a player that could be a sleeper pick come draft time as he should have more of an expanded role for Minnesota than he did with the Coyotes.
