3 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano notched his eighth save of the season on Wednesday, shutting down the Red Sox to preserve a 4-1 win in the first game of a doubleheader. The right-hander tossed a perfect seventh inning by getting a strikeout, pop out, and a fly out to retire the 9-1-2 hitters of the Boston lineup. Romano hit a small rough patch coming out of the All-Star break, but he still holds a sharp 2.29 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 43 strikeouts in 35 1/3 IP. The 28-year-old hasn't recorded the amount of saves to reflect his pitching this season, but he's been good enough to stay rostered in most formats with his ratios.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
