Rafael Devers Exits Wednesday’s Game 2 Early
3 years agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (hamstring) exited Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader early with an apparent hamstring injury. He went 4-for-7 with two doubles and an RBI in both games before leaving. The Red Sox third baseman gave a little rub on his right hamstring when he pulled into second base. The severity of Devers' injury is unknown at this time, and he's considered day-to-day. Devers is having an incredible 2021 campaign, slashing .286/.357/.586 with 27 homers, 82 RBI, 67 runs scored, and three stolen bases over 99 games. Michael Chavis replaced Devers in Wednesday's game. Chavis would see an uptick in playing time if Devers were to miss any games. The 25-year-old is mainly an option in deep-league formats after hitting .195 with two home runs and six RBI across 30 games in 2021.
