3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates first baseman Colin Moran (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday night, according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Moran has been out since the beginning of July with a small fracture in his left hand, and had just begun swinging a bat again last week. Over 49 games this year, Moran has been slashing .280/.345/.414 with four homers, 23 RBI and 11 runs scored. He should figure to get playing time in the lineup again once he returns, however he may lose out on some time if John Nogowski continues to swing the hot bat.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
