Joey Votto Sets Franchise Record With HR In Sixth Straight Game
3 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs in a 7-4 win over the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. Votto set a new Reds record by hitting a homer in six straight games in the win. He explained his recent success by simply telling reporters that he's "trying to homer". Votto now has eight homers in his past six games. Overall, he's slashing .278/.373/.556 with 20 homers, 39 runs, 58 RBI, and a steal on the season. It goes without saying, but Votto needs to be locked into fantasy lineups going forward.
