3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios is likely to be traded prior to the deadline on Friday, and the Toronto Blue Jays are a leading contender in acquiring him, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. With the news that Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray will not be traded, and with Max Scherzer landing in Los Angeles, Berrios now becomes the top starting pitcher option on the market. He's been having a great year on the mound in Minnesota, going 7-5 with a 3.48 ERA, 1.044 WHIP and 25.7 percent strikeout rate over 121 2/3 innings of work. A move to Toronto should provide a good boost to his value playing with a better lineup behind him.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
