Jake Cronenworth Smacks Clutch Insurance Home Run
3 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth pounded a clutch two-run homer Thursday against the Colorado Rockies. Cronenworth extended a slim 1-0 lead with an eighth-inning blast against reliever Daniel Bard for his only knock in four chances. While he's only tallied one multi-hit game in the past nine contests, Cronenworth remains a valuable fantasy asset with his .277/.349/.467 slash, 14 long balls, four steals and 114 runs-plus-RBI in 434 plate appearances. While Cronenworth will play more first base with second baseman/infielder Adam Frazier in the mix, any lost playing time should not come at the 27-year-old's expense.
