3 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays are in discussions with the Washington Nationals to potentially acquire catcher Yan Gomes, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network. Gomes was just reinstated from the injured list on Thursday, and over 63 games this year he is slashing .271/.323/.454 with nine homers, 35 RBI and 30 runs scored. The Blue Jays have dealt with several injuries at the catcher position this season, and Gomes would provide a nice boost to Toronto's lineup while also gaining a boost in fantasy value by hitting in a better lineup. The Blue Jays acquired Jose Berrios earlier on Friday, and this could be another big deadline acquisition for Toronto if the deal comes to fruition.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
