3 years agoIn order to make room for newly acquired relief pitcher Richard Rodriguez and outfielder Jorge Soler, the Atlanta Braves optioned shortstop/outfielder Orlando Arcia and pitcher Sean Newcomb to Triple-A on Saturday, the team announced on Twitter. Arcia is slashing .183/.234/.300 over 21 games between Milwaukee and Atlanta this season with two homers, one steal, 10 RBI and five runs scored. Newcomb has struggled in the majors this season with a 5.68 ERA and 1.776 WHIP, but he has also recorded a career-best 27.3 percent strikeout rate. Arcia and Newcomb were only options in deeper formats, and with this move managers can safely dump him to the waiver wire.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
