George Springer Homers Twice Versus Royals
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer hit a pair of long balls on Saturday to help his club defeat the Royals 4-0. He took Mike Minor's first offering of the game deep down the left field line in the first, and then followed that up with a two-run tater to right-center in the third for his 11th bomb of the season. Since his return to the leadoff spot in the lineup last weekend, the 31-year-old is hitting .333 with four homers, seven RBI, and 11 runs scored as his bat appears to be rounding into mid-season form. After missing most of the first half with injuries, managers should expect Springer to put up a stellar finish to the 2021 season.
