3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers (finger) could miss the rest of the season, per MLB.com's Do-Hyoung Park. Rogers was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left middle finger strain but is still in the process of seeking out opinions on the injury, per manager Rocco Baldelli. Baldelli noted that the southpaw was leaning towards not having surgery to repair the finger, but at any rate, the team isn't expecting him back this year. Rogers has been excellent in 2021, pitching to a 3.35 ERA with a career-best 35.5 percent strikeout rate in 40 1/3 innings. Alex Colome and Tyler Duffey should be expected to handle the ninth inning if Rogers is indeed sidelined for the year, but neither would have much upside on a last-place Twins team.--Tim Capurso
