Trevor Williams Will Debut With Triple-A Syracuse Saturday
3 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Trevor Williams will make his organization debut with Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. He will remain in the rotation in the minors as a "stretched-out" option, ready to step in if the Mets need him. Williams was acquired by New York at the MLB trade deadline but optioned to Triple-A Syracuse shortly after. The 29-year-old owned a (4-2) record along with a 5.06 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 61:22 K: BB across 58 2/3 innings in 2021. Mets ace Jacob deGrom (forearm) suffered a setback on Friday; Williams could get the call to the big leagues sooner than later. Fantasy managers can leave Williams on the waiver wire.
