Antonio Gibson To Be Used More On Third Down?
3 years agoWhen meeting with the media after practice on Monday, Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera had some high praise for running back Antonio Gibson's growth in the passing game. He mentioned how effective he was as a receiver in college, and noted that his growth this offseason could mean that Gibson will be on the field more in passing situations. J.D. McKissic served as the primary pass-catcher out of the backfield in 2020, as he saw 110 targets to Gibson's 44. If the target share out of the backfield is more balanced this season, Gibson has elite upside as he will be the leading rusher and goal-line back. Gibson's value would go up in PPR leagues, as he could vault into first-round pick territory with a solidified role in the passing game.
