Carson Wentz To Have Surgery, Will Miss 5-12 Weeks
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz will have surgery to repair his foot that he injured during the first week of training camp. Wentz could miss up to 12 weeks, but the timeline of 5-12 weeks suggests he could miss much less time than that. Jacob Eason is now in the drivers seat to be the starting quarterback according to head coach Frank Reich. The Colts offense as a whole takes a hit in terms of fantasy value, most notably wide receivers T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell, and Michael Pittman Jr. Running back Nyheim Hines could see an uptick in targets, as an unproven quarterback will likely need a security blanket to rely on. Wentz should not be picked until the later rounds of fantasy drafts, if it all, with this news. Upon his eventual return he could make for an interesting waiver wire addition later into the season.
