George Springer Hits Leadoff Homer Tuesday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer lifted his 12th homer of the campaign on Tuesday, helping his team go on to a 7-2 win over the Indians. The veteran took a full count offering from Zach Plesac over the left field wall to lead off the bottom half of the first inning, and his club never looked back in the decisive victory. He also chipped in with a double and a sac fly to finish the game going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and RBI. Springer has been on fire so far in the second half with seven homers and a .369 BA in 17 games to up his season-long BA to .277 with 29 runs and 22 RBI. Now that the three-time All-Star is back to full health he should post tremendous numbers the rest of the way.
