Sam Hilliard Goes Yard, Drives In Four Runs
3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, four RBI, two runs scored, a walk, and a strikeout in a 13-6 pounding of the Cubs. Hilliard broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning when he swatted his sixth homer of the year, a three-run blast, off Zach Davies to put Colorado up 7-1. He would add an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth as well. He's still slashing an underwhelming .195/.271/.481 with six home runs, 13 RBI, and one stolen base (77 at-bats) on the season but he's really picked it up over the last seven contests, homering three times. He's worth keeping an eye on down the stretch as he's getting semi-regular playing time in the Rockies outfield.
