Zac Gallen Earns Sixth Loss Of Season Wednesday
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen dropped to 1-6 on the season after taking the loss on Wednesday night. He allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six over 5 2/3 innings of work against the Giants. Gallen has had several stints on the injured list this season, and since he returned from his most recent stay on the IL, Gallen has gone 0-2 with a 5.48 ERA, 1.266 WHIP and 26 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings of work. To say it's been a disappointing season for Gallen is an understatement, and it's hard to say that he's even worth starting when he gets a favorable matchup due to how inconsistent he's been on the mound. Managers may want to skip his next few starts until he starts putting up more consistent results.
