3 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Sacramento, according to Maria Guardado of MLB.com. Longoria has been out since the beginning of June with a left shoulder sprain, but prior to that he'd been slashing .280/.376/.516 with nine homers, one steal, 30 RBI and 28 runs scored over 50 games. It looks like he could be back in the near future, and he could provide a solid late-season boost in most formats upon his return.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
