3 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman Connor Joe went 2-for-4 with a solo home in a 6-5 win over the Cubs on Thursday. Joe picked up his third homer of the year in the bottom of the second inning when he took Jake Arrieta deep for a solo blast to stake the Rockies a 2-0 lead. The 28-year-old infielder/outfielder added a single later in the contest as well. He's been a solid contributor since getting recalled back on July 20, seeing time at first base and in the outfield. Joe is slashing .286/.363/.440 with three home runs and 15 RBI over 91 at-bats on the year. He's a deep NL-only option at this point in the season as he lacks power and doesn't play every day for Colorado.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
