3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Shane McClanahan (6-4) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out eight across seven innings to earn the win during Saturday's 12-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. He limited the Orioles to three runs across a career-high seven frames to pick up his sixth win of the year. The 24-year-old has emerged as one of the Rays' most reliable starting pitchers. "I think he came in as a pretty special pitcher," said Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "I think he's learning as he goes. We think really, really highly of him for a good reason." McClanahan has been impressive in his rookie campaign, owning a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and a 99:28 K: BB across 84 innings. The southpaw will look to keep things rolling in a plus matchup against the Twins on the road Thursday.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
