Jaime Barria Tolerable Performance
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jaime Barria (2-0) picked up a quality start in Saturday's loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, pitching six innings with three earned runs, five strikeouts, and two walks. He has started three games since being recalled on July 25, all six innings or more, and has a 2.29 ERA since then. Overall he has a 4.21 ERA with 13 strikeouts, 10 walks, and three home runs allowed in 25.2 IP. If Barria can continue to keep the ball in the park and overcome his ugly K/BB, he can be a low-risk waiver wire pickup for fantasy managers needing ERA contributions. If he becomes more of the pitcher that his 4.96 FIP suggests, then there's no hurt in dropping him.
