Shohei Ohtani Pinch Hits, Strikes Out
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani was used as a pinch hitter on Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and struck out in his only at-bat in the eighth. He is now just 4 for his last 35 with no home runs over his last 10 games. Impressively, he still has 1.014 OPS, and he's batting .269 with 37 HRs, 82 RBI, 74 runs, and 15 SBs. There's no sense in sitting him, as he's been a top three-hitter all year and can turn the corner at any time. The Angels have one more game at Chavez Ravine, so Ohtani won't be in the starting lineup, but then they head back home on Tuesday to play the Toronto Blue Jays.
